The word reincarnation does not appear in the World English Bible or the King James Version (0 verses). Hebrews 9:27 is the verse most often cited against it: 'it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment.' Verses sometimes cited for reincarnation, such as Jesus calling John the Baptist Elijah (Matthew 11:13-14, 17:10-13) and the question about a man born blind (John 9:1-3), are explained in the text itself: John came 'in the spirit and power of Elijah' (Luke 1:17), and Jesus answers that the blindness was not caused by an earlier sin. The Bible's teaching is a single life followed by resurrection and judgment (John 5:28-29, 1 Corinthians 15:42-44). The verses below set out both sides of the passages.

"But man dies, and is laid low. Yes, man gives up the spirit, and where is he? As the waters fail from the sea, and the river wastes and dries up, so man lies down and doesn’t rise. Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep."
"But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep."

"The beggar died, and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried. In Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom. He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’ “But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But here he is now comforted, and you are in anguish. Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that no one may cross over from there to us.’"
"And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence."

"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you."

"And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him."

Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.” Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer."

Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’"
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body."

It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."

No. Hebrews 9:27 says people die once and then face judgment, and the Bible's hope for the dead is resurrection, not return in another body (1 Corinthians 15:42-44, John 11:25-26).
Jesus says John is the Elijah who was to come (Matthew 11:14), yet John himself says he is not Elijah (John 1:21). Luke 1:17 resolves it: John came in the spirit and power of Elijah, fulfilling the role without being the same person.
Jesus tells Nicodemus that one must be born of water and the Spirit (John 3:3-7), and Peter says believers are born again by the word of God (1 Peter 1:23). It describes spiritual new life in this life, not a new body after death.
Believers are with Christ (Philippians 1:23, 2 Corinthians 5:8), then raised with new bodies (1 Corinthians 15:51-53), and everyone faces judgment (2 Corinthians 5:10, Hebrews 9:27).
